In Rome last week, I had fabulous blood orange juice. So I immediately decided I had to have a tree of it. But according to the barista, the orange variety is nothing special, "the same one you can get everywhere."
The most common one here in California where I live is "Moro" which tastes nothing like what I had.
So is it a different variety, or does the climate make all the difference?

CA has a very similar climate to Italy. I believe the more common blood orange in Italy is Tarocco.

I agree, i read somwhere, that moro is more popular in other european countries. Tarroco is blood orange number 1 in Italy.

And that reminds me, I have to get some Bream Tarocco budwood.
