1. Is this a Cricket?
2. How do I get rid of them? They are eating my leaves.

Looks like a grasshopper to me. I just catch them and tear off the head.

I do the same as tolumnia, but sometimes I pull the legs off first!

However, if you have a large tree and too many, you can use almost any insecticide. I tend to go with the least persistient ones like malathion, or pyrethrins when I need insecticides. Spinosad is one I use on citrus to kill CLM--it should kill the grasshoppers as well.

I did that to this one but the overall problem remains. Another opinion is Cricket. Either way, it appears they are eating off my leaves and then hiding. I do not want to use any chemicals so Seven and Malathion are out. I think I will try Cayenne Pepper and olive oil or something like that.
