Can anyone identify what citrus plant this is - i'm sure it is a citrus of some kind. If not, can anyone advise?
Thanks,
Jon

Could be any orange, most likely sour orange due the the extreme thorns. |

Like Mr.Texas said it could be any orange, but I don't think it is a sour orange, as the petioles are not winged enough. Never prune a container citrus tree if you ever want the tree to fruit. The foliage looks quite yellow, are you fertilizing the tree on a regular basis, once or twice a month? Is your tree a grafted tree, or did you start it from a seed? - Millet |

I would say it looks more like a seedling Calomondin. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

Hi all, thanks for your replies.
It was grown from a seed in the pot that its in now. It was about 6 inches high, I fed it with miracle-gro and it suddenly grew quite high to about 4 feet, it was touching the ceiling, so i cut a foot off the top, and then it sprouted the shoots from either side where i cut it. i assumed it would have sprouted from the main stem.
do i re-pot it in a bigger pot, can i leave it outside. i haven't changed the compost at all, which i will have to do if i re-pot it. maybe that will work. how long will it take to flower and fruit?
cheers,
Jon |

As a seedling orange you have approximately 9-10 more years to wait for any fruit. Because citrus matures upon attaining the required node count, pruning is a real NO-NO if you ever want the tree to fruit. - Millet |
