My wife wants to give me a citrus book for Christmas so I spent some time looking for any that I don't have. Anyone have these? What do you think of them?

The Biology of Citrus (The Biology of Horticultural Crops)by Pinhas Spiegel-Roy, Eliezer E. Goldschmidt.

Growing Citrus: The Essential Gardener's Guide by Martin Page.

I know this one is just now supposed to be coming out, but maybe one of you have gotten your copy already.

Citrus: A Guide to Organic Management, Propagation, Pruning, Pest Control and Harvesting by Allen Gilbert

The Great Citrus Book: A Guide With Recipes by Allen Susser

Citrus Fruits and Fruits From the Tropics: New Experiments Well Worth Trying by Luther Burbank

Anyone want to give some opinions on these?

The 'The Biology of Citrus' isn't a very easy read. It's very much an advanced textbook for a botany course, with lots of quotes from research papers, plus more references at the end of each chapter.
I assume you have The Citrus Industry, Volume 1. If not, then snap up the one currently on ebay at $25

It might be old, but it's still the best. And reading the online version is not a patch on having the book in your hands!

I've read The Citrus Industry online, even printed the whole thing out, but only just recently bought an actual copy of it. Hasn't come in yet, but I'm looking forward to getting it.

I have many, many citrus books including the complete 4 volume set of The Citrus Industry. The very best citrus book that I have read so far is "The Biology of Citrus" by Spiegel-Roy and Goldschmidt. - Millet

Another book to rread, especially for Florida residents, is "Citrus Growing in Florida" by Jackson & Davies. The book is published by the University Press of Florida. I think I purchased my copy through the book store at Florida Souther College, Dr. Manners school. It can also be purchased through Florida Science Source, Inc. The Biology of Citrus is an excellent book; the writing is technical, yet readable.

Citrus Growing In Florida I already have. I've got most everything citrus related that IFAS or the university press has put out that I can find. I think I'll put The Biology of Citrus on the list as the other book hasn't been published yet and doesn't sound like it'll be out in time for Christmas.

Anyone else want to comment on one of the above books or have a different one they'd like to suggest?
