Hello I was referred to by someone to these forums Smile. I have some questions.
First of all what are some good orange citrus that I can grow indoors in IOWA. and will also have the biggest fruit (for indoor).
and second, I have this small lime tree, about a foot tall. the leaves are turning yellow and alot of them dropped.
There was this also baby lemon tree that i just got, and around the same time the lime tree started dropping it shed all of its leaves. I was very confused on why that was happening. is it transplanting, bad tap water?

Thanks in Advance

Im sure one of the pro's will be along soon to tell you, it would be much easier to describe the growing conditions and post some pics. Ie how much light indirect/direct, soil, etc

Also read the winter growing article at top of forum, I was staggered.

Hi Wesida, & welcome to this forum! I am not a pro here , but I'm sure many will follow up.
Is your 1 ft tall lime tree from seed or grafted? Sounds small for grafted. Also, Beno was right in directing you to the thread on wintering citrus.
You could be overwatering ( which many have a dendancy to do) or it could be as simple as plant just accumating & losing older leaves. All citrus lose leaves, ususally the older ones. At least this is a good time of year, because you can always put outdoors & it will grow new branches & even blossom for you.
I'm sure someone will jump in & give you better help & advice. Would be nice if you could post a pic.(?)
Citrus need well draining soil & esp now, some good ferts ,at about 5-1-3 ratio. They tend to get root rot if too wet. Good luck.

Apprantly if the leaf dropps without the stem, its stressed, if it dropps with the stem its fine, its just losing its old foliage.

Hello, Thanks guys for the fast answers Very Happy . Unfort I don't have a recent picture with me beacuse the plant is back in my mothers house (which is just one block away) I will try to get a picture soon.
I got the plant from earlmay and it was very young. It grew to this size (in the old picture) and then i moved it into about X 2.5 bigger pot.

Most of the leaves turned yellow and dropped, then it started to grow again but there are not as many leaves now. and I dont think I see any green stems now, secondary growth?

By the way, I don't know if my earlmay have any small citrus orange trees. Are there any good places online. I am looking maybe for Mandarins or sweet oranges.

That looks like salt buildup. You can flush the pot with water for 15 to 30 minutes a couple times a year and that will help.
