Hi,
Does anybody has grafted onto a kumquat plant? After carefully reading JoeReal's tutorial, I want to graft some pummelo onto a kumquat plant that's about 8y old. Right now the bark is slipping (I try to peal it off) but it seems to be very thin (about 1/2 mm); Is this the bark I'm peeling of it's just the skin of the bark? I only have 2 pummelo scions so I figure I would ask first , thanks.

Yes the bark you peel is the skin only. I like cutting a v into the bark and lifting that way to make sure it's slipping.
Happy grafting and good luck, just follow exactly and you will be fine.

Calamondin, (Citrus X Fortunella kumquat) has been used as rootstock for Pummelo in the Phillipines. Perhaps an interstock or double shield budding might improve the combination ? Possibly too late to think about it if you already have the scions on hand. If the grafts take, you may be able to bridge graft in the future.
