I am looking for cutting for Dream Navel orange. I have a lot cutting or plants to trade, including the Australian red finger lime.
Thank you for your help!

I don't have Dream Naval, but just in case you are not aware, it is against federal law to ship any citrus parts out of Florida and against Florida law to import any citrus parts ( without a permit). _________________ Skeet

Skeet is correct. However, Florida citrus trees are being shipped in quantities into Canada. To nurseries from the Canadian west coast to the Canadian east cost. Millet (1,382-) |

I believe certain FL counties can not ship to other FL counties. _________________ Wal-Mart a great place to buy cheap plastic crap ! http://walmartwatch.com/ ...

I don't know for sure, but if I remember correctly, they did pass a new regulation that took effect last Jan (0 that made it illegal to transport citrus within Florida that were not propagated inside a screenhouse, however, I do not know if that applies to citrus parts.
Personally, I do not want to recieve any propagation material from other parts of Florida--especially areas where canker and greening exist. _________________ Skeet

My guess is that greening exists in every part of Florida. Because it can take up to two years before the symptoms of greening show, areas that think they are greening free, can easily be quite contaminated. As Ned writes, greening has progressed beyond Florida, and is known to be as far north as South Carolina. The SC tree seems to have been infected two years ago. - Millet (1,379-) |

I can only say I have not seen it or the ACP in this area and I have not see or heard of any reports of greening in this area.
Most people do not realize how big Florida is. The county I live in is almost closer to Canada than to Key West--if you include the Grand Tortugas we are closer to Canada than parts of Florida. I am much closer to the greening in LA and more concerned about it than greening in the nearest known source in Florida. South Carolina is much closer to known areas of greening in Florida than we are in NW Florida. _________________ Skeet

Skeet,
We know for sure that using AZ41 farmers are able to produce canker-free citrus fruits in the Philippines... It is not immediately 100% canker-free fruits, but it made them possible to produce a lot of canker-free fruits (more than 50%) instead of 100% canker-infected fruits. Hopefully through continuous use, it would be approaching 100% canker-free fruits. We are monitoring those studies, including some very promising products that combat against greening disease.
Regards,
Joe |

I believe New Orleans and one other parish is under quarentine as is all of FL and it is a violation of federal law to ship any parts of citrus plants ( other than fruit) out of the quarentine areas. _________________ Skeet
