Hey everyone, i haven't posted in a while, most of my citrus have been doing well, and my key lime is almost three feet. My problem is with my navel orange, it started to flower in oct. and then I had to bring it in dec. from the greenhouse. It was doing fine in the house until i had to move it to a new room, the room has a medium sized window and the tree is right next to the window, it has started to drop its leaves and some of the branches are turning brown and dieing. Does anyone know what is causing this? There is a heat vent near the window and that is my only explanation because the roots are fine. here are some pics.

I have been spraying the leaves to try to keep humidity on them. Thanks for any help and if you know the problem is there any solution?

Check the soil temps. With the leaves sitting in direct sun, the soil temp needs to be warm. Cold soil temp with a plant in direct sun is one of the main causes of leaf drop.

Does it stay 68--like in the early morning hours? If it is not cool roots, I would check the roots and make sure they are still healthy.

they are on a heater so it is constant all day, and i tugged on it and was firm in the pot and wasn't moving. So an guessing the roots are fine but should ido a more thorough check by lifting it out of the pot?

At this point, I would. Given the soil temp is OK, condition of the roots and soil are the next suspect. How long since it was last repotted?

Because your tree was doing well after you brought it in the house, and because the tree's root system is at 68F, the cause of the leaf drop is likely due to a sudden change in available light. My guess is that the tree enjoyed a lot more light when growing in the first room and less light now that it has been moved. This is especially a problem with Navel Oranges. Do you have a grow light? Take care. - Millet

An answer to millet is yes i have a grow light and i thinking of using, i am just not sure as how to set it up still thinking of ways. I am fairly sure that it is not dry heat because a humidifier is about 10 feet away from the tree and I mist the leaves several times a week. I am thinking it has to do with light, but thanks to every one for answering my question.
