I just bought some ant killing chalk which contains "Tralomethrin". Works like a charm on my espaliered citrus by drawing a line on the espaliers. Does anyone know if this would be safe to put on the bark of a citrus tree?

It is from the class of pesticides called pyrethroids. Synthetic pyrethroids are modeled after the extract of chrysanthemums that was used as a natural pesticide. They are generally of low toxicity to humans and mammals, but I could not find any specific data on this one. It was indicated as having high toxicity to fish.

Thanks Guys! I hate ants. They have been putting scale on my Eustis Limequat and Aphids on my Owari Satsuma. I just drew a ring on the bark of the limequat this evening and they have been trying to walk across it and dying left and right. Label said it should last 8 weeks. Probably only last 4 but at $3.99 I don't care...
