Lindsay Olives will send you a 36 inch Manzanilla olive tree, ready to pot, indoors or out, with the proceeds donated to the Fruit Tree Planting Foundation, a nonprofit dedicated to planting fruitful trees and plants worldwide in impoverished areas. Although I'm not giving odds on all climates, the trees are suited to grow in climate zones 10 and 11 or in containers. The trees are $50.00 plus shipping, all proceeds donated. Orders can be placed at lindsayolives.com or 1-800-765-2029. Orders are accepted through December.

Millet:
What is Laus Deo mean?
I've been wanting to ask you that. It's Latin and I know what Deo means.

The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation is a worthy cause. However if you just want to experiment with Olives in the southeast Brandy at Just Fruits has found a self-fertile Olive variety that is actually performing well in 8b!
Quote:
ARBEQUINA Great things come in small packages. A tiny Spanish olive of medium brown. Brine cured for eating and pressed for making excellent olive oil. Self-fertile. Zones 8B-9

Hmmm, I learned more on this thread than anticipated Shocked Anyway, I just purchased a small olive tree from Fruit Trees and More in Sidney British Columbia and it apparently grows well in a Zone 8. It is a green variety which will apparently turn black with age. I think it will be a few years before this one produces.
