I have posted several questions regarding the best varieties to plant in Pensacola Florida. Navels have come up several times which brings up a question. I have heard that Navels do not ripen until late season February to March. I would be pretty much be assured to have a freeze by then on most years. Do they have early season Navels and which would you plant in my area?

I have added both Cara Cara and Washington to my list. It was said the the Cara Cara shares many of the characteristics of the Washington.

Thanks,

CC colors up much better than washington in SE Texas. They are a nice red even in summertime. My best fruit out of 25 trees. Washington navels in my yard never colored up by Christmas, just a very pale orange.

Thanks to all,
I think Cara Cara has won. It can perform double duty as a Blood Orange.
