Hi All,

I have been lurking on this site for a while and it has been very helpful; this is my first time posting. I apologize for the long wind up before I get to the question but here goes...

1) I live in Charleston, SC - Zone 8b
2) I have 3 citrus trees, all in containers on my balcony. Key lime tree - pretty large, I have had it for a couple years, it produced one wee lime last year (yay!). Meyer lemon tree & kaffir lime trees - I have only had a couple of months. They are small.
3a) All are currently living in a patio greenhouse (as of late December when we got an arctic blast) that has been getting up to the mid-80s during the day and down to low to mid-50s overnight for the past week. Soil temps are up to the mid-60s as of this week. (Temps were much lower during the cold spell a couple of weeks ago. Low temp in greenhouse was 34, soil in the 40s).
3b) Humidity stays pretty high - was around 70% this morning.
4) Had a traumatic incident of WLD over Thanksgiving when I moved everyone inside to a sunny window while I was out of town for a week. All trees are currently naked but the branches are green. Oops.
5) Trees currently get about 4 hours of sunlight through the greenhouse (up to 6-8 hours in the spring/summer).
6) Weather supposed to stay warm enough for the foreseeable future to keep temps where they currently are.

SO, finally, the question: What do i need to be doing to help my little trees recover now that soil temps are high enough so that the roots can actually do something? Water? Fertilizer? Leave them alone?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you!!
Emily

Hi Emily. Once we get some warmer temps you plants should start to flush back out. Meyer lemons will often start to produce flower buds before they start to leaf back out. The most important thing is to keep the root zone warm.
