I noticed today it was looking a little droopy. Also I checked and some of the roots are a little brown. And when the soil dries the top of it looks a little white. Also, the older leafs are getting a little yellow/browning at the ends.

I would also like to know what kind of soil (dumbed down so I can understand) I need. I was using regular miracle grow potting soil.

Also, I haven't "fed" it in a while (2 months). I have been using miracle grow. What should I feed it, and how often? I think this tree won't make it. It is about 8 months old.

2 new leafs are coming in as well. I don't think this one will make it.

I have some Christmas lights I was thinking about wrapping around the clay pot. Would this help growth (keeping it warm).

Sorry for all the clutter.

You could be suffocating the roots with water. You need a potting soil that promotes more drainage. The easiest thing to do is buy miracle gro for cactus and citrus. It is always at Lowes in my area. It contains fertilizer so you won't have to worry about it for a few months then you can search this forum for all kinds of different fertilizers people use. Also check into giving your tree epsom salts. You can find directions for that is this forum also.

The problem with your tree is two fold. The tree is suffering from high soluble salts toxicity. The two greatest symptoms in your tree's case are the white residue on the soil surface, and the burning of the tips and margins of the leaves. You need to flush the container out with 4 times the volume of the container with clean clear water. Second, citrus are heavy feeders, and not feeding the tree for two months is not a good idea. - Millet (1,064-)
