Wanting to share how it is to ride your minivan on a big ocean-worthy ferry:

Can't believe that about 8 lanes of about quarter mile long would easily fit into the ferry. The moment we started rolling, it took less than ten minutes before the ferry started to move. Here are some details of the loading process. You simply drive and park!

A few seconds after the last car, the ferry is already leaving the port. But unfortunately, some years ago a whole Swiss family died when their vehicle fell into the water as the Ferry moved away before they even got safely into it. I would be uneasy to be the last one to board. But in fact on the way back, we were the last one to board!

Full speed ahead! The trip is just 35 miles on water and took 90 minutes. Somebody figure out the average speed!

Ahh, they have full sized cafeteria with buffet, and espresso! As long as there's mocha, I don't care about the other amenities! there are also game arcades, gift shops, and of course internet. But you can't make me log on to a publicly accessible internet. There is no security protection. But if you only happen to browse the net, then it is fine. But definitely I don't advice that you access your email over such access point.

Here's the views going to the top deck. Sorry can't show the other people. Most of them are kissing everywhere! Very romantic, so don't want to violate their privacies!

Oh, I can't seem to get enough view of the beautiful islands. Reminds me while I was still in the Philippines. I used to travel on big boats that travel about 300 miles passing thousands of islands in the Philippines and those took 24 hour trips that sometimes passes through typhoons. Here in the deck of BC Ferry, it is sunny and lovely. Temperature is perfect at about 72 deg F.

Another one of those BC Ferries! They have trips every 45 minutes even past midnight at times, but their schedules are posted in the internet.

Bye, bye and bon voyage!

I hope you enjoyed it like I did! The views are very nostalgic for me that the 90 minute trip seemed like a few seconds.

Joe, I've been on the BC fairy system many times. I never get tired of seeing the many islands, especially when going from Vancouver Island to the mainland. Southeastern BC Canada is a wonderful area. A few years back the train ride from the city of Vancouver, Canada, east across Canada to the eastern providences was another thrill. Again, thanks for sharing. - Millet
