Even though the recession is officially over our economy remains in the doldrums. Eliminate the corporate income tax and tax the shareholders instead on all the earnings Kind of like REITs except all the income wouldn't have to be given back to shareholders.
It could be done without increasing the deficit as well making the shareholders pay the tax also for retained earnings. The shareholders would certainly pressure companies to pay higher dividends. It sure would be simpler to figure out the crushing burden taxes are having on our economy. The company owners(shareholders) would pay all the taxes! The tax on dividends is 15% but really is 45%(assuming average corporate tax rate of 35%)

I would rather see a reduction in government spending, by making it illegal to attach a bunch of unrelated riders to an appropriation bill; riders that could never have passed on their own. - Millet (728-)
