I would like to try some container orange trees. I like juice from Valencia oranges. Would that be a good one to try indoors? It is winter here now with snow and cold temperatures outside. Would I have to wait until spring for safe shipping or are any heated shipping methods available? Thanks!

Four Winds Growers will ship their citrus trees in insulated boxes with heat packs enclosed, for an additional $10.00 fee. - Millet (1,122-)

Well, grown trees indoors is a thing of size.
If you have a glas front with bottom to top high windows, well, you can maybe keep a large tree. But if you only have a windowsill, yu can only grow a small tree.
From my experience:

I grow three oranges on the windowsill, and my harvest is pretty low. Only one or two fruit a year.
So on larger trees, it's much better... Trees 'feel' their size and depending on size they even control their fruit load. So it's barely impossible to get a pummelo fruiting on the windowsill, and rare grapefruit will rippen. Lemons do much better, but small fruited limes and mandarines are much better croppers....

So... depending on your circumcances you can grow any citrus tree you like... the fruit and the fruit load comes with the tree size

Thanks! I have a floor to almost ceiling window that faces to the south. This should be an interesting learning experience for me.
