This spring I have done some grafting onto a Meyer lemon tree. Most have been successful. The ponderosa lemon is growing and today I noticed buds on the new growth.

I thought flower buds always came from year old growth not new growth.

Do you think I should remove any fruit if they develop?

Is it just too early after grafting to let the weight of fruit potentially affect the union of the graft?
