Someone sent this in email today. Makes me not want to eat fish or chicken. I'll bet Millet already knew this
Maybe I'd rather eat squirrel from here(?)

Patty,
thanks for the link. I've seen more horrible pictures than that, in a documentary about their waste recycling. But still, that's really gross! When we went camping and ran out groceries, WalMart was the nearest store to go to, at least in the foothills near Jackson, Ca. As much as we don't like it, we went and looked over the grocery items. I did not find any chickens at WalMart that came from China at that time. The fish like Salmon were from fish farms in Canada, the Tilapia from Chile (or Brazil?), and the beef and pork were from California. Unless WalMart intentionally mislabeled the food origins, have nothing to worry about. We ended up buying canned products like pork & beans, corned beef, and tuna fish produced in the USA. We did find food from China, and these are mussels, shrimp, and oysters, but we didn't buy those stuff, especially from WalMart.
But, in case I happen to pass by WalMart again, I will take note if they have meat and poultry products from China and I will report back. Maybe will look them up again when I have free time this weekend.

Well, Snopes says it is as yet undetermined as to whether this one is true or not.
http://www.snopes.com/photos/food/chinachicken.asp
But I'm suspicious of it myself.
Nevertheless we do not buy ANY food of any kind from China if we are able to determine that's where it came from. I've got two cases of Green Giant brand mushrooms to donate to the food bank because they changed over to Chinese production without my noticing.
Even if it's a brand you've been buying for a long time you should read the label closely once in a while because country of origin can change.

I know how you & Laaz hate Walmart Millet.
Joe, I dont know if this was on that link, but beware of fish from Canada... it comes from China! This was written in my email.
Read this:
"WATCH WHAT YOU BUY. ESPECIALLY HIGHLINER FISH PRODUCTS; all come from China, even though the box says ' product of Canada' it is from China and 'processed' in Canada the coating is added and packaged! The fish are raised in pens using chemicals that are banned here in Canada as cancer causing, but legal in China . This was exposed on CBC TV's Marketplace."
Also:
"Basically, do not buy any processed food from China , also Hong Kong ,
too. MANY companies are using a Hong Kong address to avoid this type of image reputation."
Walmart is #1 for buying Chinese products & hiring Illegal Immigrants _________________ Patty

Currently, I wouldn't go into Wal-Mart even if you paid me.
I've been inside there ONLY 2 or 3 times in my life. Bought nothing. All different store location, and with friends who forced me inside.
Same atmosphere at every one of their stores: "It's a frickin' ghetto."
Parking lot is littered with shopping carts and trash. Inside the store - same exact thing. Food, store merchandise, and trash are everywhere. Messy floors. No organization! Poorly dressed unprofessional employees chit-chatting with their gangster friends at every other aisle. A zillion security cameras all over the ceiling of the store. Shoplifting must be rampant there. English is not the official language. etc. etc.
I left the store with the same questions to my friends:
1) Why do you even bother shopping there? It's a $hithole.
2) How does the company Wal-Mart manage to stay on top? It's a $hithole.
3) Why is the Walton Family billionaires? Their stores are America's $hitholes.
"OH MY GOD...."
First three words out of my mouth when entering and after leaving the store. |

Wal-Mart worker dies in rush; two killed at toy store
(CNN) -- Three violent deaths in two stores marred the opening of the Christmas shopping season Friday.
In the first, a temporary Wal-Mart employee was trampled to death in a rush of thousands of early morning shoppers as he and other employees attempted to unlock the doors of a Long Island, New York, store at 5 a.m., police said.
In the second, unrelated incident, two men were shot dead in a Toys "R" Us in Palm Desert, California, after they argued in the store, police said.
The toy company and authorities said the California shootings had nothing to do with shopping on Black Friday, which is historically one of the year's busiest shopping days.
The Wal-Mart worker, whom authorities did not identify, was 34 and lived in Queens, said Nassau County police Detective Lt. Michael Fleming.....
