Why not grow one from seed and see it if is hardy in your area?
That way you get the enjoyment of eating a Cherimoya and avoid
the expense of shipping a small tree.

I grew a few seedlings and tried grafting "Fino-de-Jete" on
them and it looks like the scions have turned black.
Oh,well, there is always next year. I have planted a few more
seeds and will try again.

I have an "Elixer" growing here in Southern California, 3 miles
from the ocean. It is about two feet high and I hope it will
soon have some new leaves.

Julia Morton in "Fruits of warm climates" says
"The cherimoya begins to bear when 3 1/2 to 5 years old".

Hello Tomm ,
I just ordered 3 cherimoya fruits and the 2 yr old tree..
Ill grow the seeds from the frit using Laaz's Bag trick IT works Great for everything ive tried so far...

I have 2 greenhouses 1 is the first one i had 6X8 its right next too the garage back door and the old BBQ vent went out that door so in winter i have it being used to send warm air into the Small green house.. from my house .. keeping it around 70-75 degrees.. summers hear in my banana Belt are no different then the Cal beach area's More like eureka cali very nice and i know cherimoya's grow there I just didnt know what they where at that time ...i get my Tamatoes going around dec 25 and jan 18 depending on how light it is and if i dont have other things in there..
the bigger one is still getting sidded since i totally forgot to put in the sealer stuff (Idiot) but i used screws so i can just redo it easy..Its 48x40 or 50 cant remember just had lots to build at that time and still working on my home

SO Definatly wish me luck ..PS Thank you so much for the info Idea and your link Tammy

Gina, that first link is good. I had it before but lost it somewhere so I bkmarked it. You might have to wait longer than 3 yrs from now. This is my 4th growing season for them & I'm hoping for blossoms along with new foliage growing now. They are tricky to pollinate.

I have looked in store for some fruit but haven't seen any.. Ahhh the waiting will be torture.. Shocked at least with the citrus.. i can go satisfy my curiosity for most by purchasing some..
wait wait wait wait... are we there yet?? is it done yet??? Wink

Gina, my friend Citrus Joe sent me one last Dec when they were in season. He too has Ch. trees but no fruit yet --he bougjt it at store. Since then, I saw ONE cherimoya at my local grocery produce!! Only ONE & it looked terrible. They don't travel or store well. They are good but have a TON of HUGE seeds. This could be my year to get fruit!!!
Don't forget the chilling hours they will need in winter.
